Eminent Air Muay Thai: a visit
Eminent Air Muay Thai, at the end of a Bangkok residential lane, found by following a roadside sign.

What the visit showed
A roadside sign reading muay thai camp, 250 metres, points down a residential lane. The gym is at the far end of it with house gates on both sides and no frontage of its own.
The walls inside are covered to the roofline with framed fight photographs and newspaper pages, and the shelf beneath them carries a row of trophy cups.
Training is under a pitched steel roof with the sides open to the trees: one ring, heavy bags on a timber frame, interlocking mats across the floor.
A trainer in a red singlet, named on screen as Prakayphet, works through combinations on camera. His right forearm ends above the wrist.
The pad work filmed is a trainer in a body protector taking kicks and knees from one fighter. No sparring appears in the clip.

Said by the gym
The gym's account, as the reel relays it, is that it has been on that spot since 1997, which is the year its own site gives as well, naming the founder as the Lumpini promoter Somboon Niruttimetee.
Not settled
What the visit did not answer
- Which session a visitor is put in. The gym sells one session for 500 baht and publishes two a day, both of them labelled fighters' training, and nothing on the page says where somebody walking in for an hour goes.
- What the placard on the wall is. It ends in 93 and the street number the gym publishes is 114/2, so the two do not resolve to the same thing.
- Who Prakayphet is on the staff. The reel names the trainer it films; the gym's own trainers page, which has not changed since 2022, lists eight people and he is not one of them.

Ollie posts a numbered series on Instagram under a single title, finding the best Muay Thai gym in Thailand. One gym per entry: turn up, train the session, put up what it was like. The account bio reads "muay thai enthusiast", not fighter, and that is the accurate description of nearly everyone who flies here to train. It is also the reason the series is worth reading rather than only watching.
We publish these visits as field notes because the rest of this site is a desk. Every rate here was read off a gym's own website on a dated day, which is a real thing to know and not the same thing as standing in the place at six in the morning. The gap between those two is most of what somebody booking a month actually wants.
