Camp against camp

Jaopahin Muay Thai or Monkey Muay Thai

Two camps in Hua Hin, set against each other on what each one publishes about itself. Nothing below is our opinion of either.

Jaopahin Muay Thai

Every price is printed twice, once for children and once for adults. The figures above are the adult column. The child one runs 350 for a day, 1,000 for a week, 2,999 for a month and 7,500 for three months. Adults pay 10,500 for three months, and a pack of ten classes is 3,000 for adults or 2,500 for children, valid forty five days. A month at two sessions a day is 4,999 and is the one line with no child price beside it. Private is published as a range, 1,000 to 1,400 an hour for adults and 1,000 to 1,200 for children. The 450 above is listed as a one day pass but described by the gym as a single class. Group classes run an hour and a half. No room rate is published.

Monkey Muay Thai

The week is seven days of unlimited group classes and the month is thirty, with one private session included in the month. Session packs work out cheaper: 2,000 for five and 3,800 for ten. Three months is 23,999. Rooms are sold only inside the longer programmes, which start at 39,000 for the weight-loss one and 15,000 a week for rehabilitation, so there is no nightly room rate to quote. Thai nationals with an ID card pay half price on group classes and thirty percent less on privates.

Against the country

Each line runs from the cheapest figure listed camps print for that rate to the dearest, with Jaopahin Muay Thai marked above the line, Monkey Muay Thai below it and the stretch between them inked. In baht, Jaopahin Muay Thai first, then Monkey Muay Thai: one group session the same at 450, inside a run of 550 that 31 of 44 listed camps print; a week, unlimited at 1,800 and 3,500, 1,700 apart inside a run of 3,700 that 21 of 44 listed camps print; a month, unlimited at 3,999 and 9,800, 5,801 apart inside a run of 14,001 that 26 of 44 listed camps print; one private the same at 1,000, inside a run of 900 that 22 of 44 listed camps print. Rates only one of the two publishes are left out, because a line carrying one mark says nothing about two camps.

They quote the same figure on 3 lines: one group session, one private and takes beginners.

What we cannot tell you yet

Neither camp has been confirmed on the lines below, so this page does not compare them. They are named rather than left off, because a comparison that only shows the fields it happens to hold is the shape of a page pretending to be complete.

In their own words

What each camp is

Jaopahin Muay Thai

A family gym in Nong Kae run by Kru Tum, who names his two assistant coaches and three of his fighters on the site. The timetable runs three adult group sessions on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and two on the other three days, because the early evening hour goes to the children, and every class is an hour and a half. Every price is printed twice, once for children and once for adults, so a parent training alongside a kid can read the whole bill off one page. The month buys training and nothing else, with no room and no visa attached, and the gym is closed on Sunday. Suits a family or a beginner already staying in Hua Hin who wants a plain price list and a coach who is also the owner.

Monkey Muay Thai

Closer to a fitness retreat than a fight camp, and open about it: the programmes it sells are built around weight loss, rehabilitation and holiday training, with Muay Thai as the main activity rather than the only one. Classes, private sessions and rooms are priced separately and published, which is rarer than it should be. Suits someone who wants to train every day and get fit in Thailand, and is not where you go to be matched for a fight.

What people ask about Jaopahin Muay Thai and Monkey Muay Thai

Every figure below is read off the two records at build time rather than written by hand, so a question neither camp has published anything behind is left out instead of answered softly.
Is Jaopahin Muay Thai or Monkey Muay Thai cheaper?
Jaopahin Muay Thai, on the line most trips are booked on. A month of unlimited training is 3,999 baht there against 9,800 baht at Monkey Muay Thai, a gap of 5,801 baht. They both quote 3 other priced lines, and Jaopahin Muay Thai is lower on one and 2 come out level. A cheaper month is not a cheaper trip. Food, a room where the camp has none and the flight home all sit outside these figures, and a camp that is 2,000 baht dearer a month is the cheaper of the two the moment it saves you a daily taxi.
What is the difference between Jaopahin Muay Thai and Monkey Muay Thai?
2 of the 5 lines both camps publish come out different: a week of unlimited training and a month of unlimited training. They match on a single group session, a private session and whether beginners are taken. Jaopahin Muay Thai publishes how many sessions a day run, and Monkey Muay Thai publishes whether there are rooms on site. What separates two camps on the mats is the trainer you get put with, and no camp publishes that. Use the lines above to cut the list down, then ask both.
Is Jaopahin Muay Thai or Monkey Muay Thai better for a beginner?
Both. Jaopahin Muay Thai and Monkey Muay Thai each read as a room somebody who has never trained can walk into. That is a call made at a desk from what each camp publishes about who it trains, not a verdict from the mats. A gym built around a fight team will take a beginner's money and leave them holding pads at the back for a month, so ask both how a first session actually runs before you book either.
Can you stay at Jaopahin Muay Thai or Monkey Muay Thai?
Monkey Muay Thai says you can sleep at the camp. Jaopahin Muay Thai publishes nothing either way, so that line stays blank. Neither nightly rate is published, so the room line stays blank rather than get estimated off camps elsewhere that do print one. Staying in means the commute stops being a decision you make twice a day at five in the morning, which matters more than the saving on most trips shorter than a month.
How far apart are Jaopahin Muay Thai and Monkey Muay Thai?
About 4.8 km in a straight line, measured between the two pins rather than along a road, so a motorbike covers more ground than that and traffic decides the rest. Both camps sit in Hua Hin. That is a ride rather than a walk, so trying both in one trip means picking a base and paying to cross, or splitting the stay in two.

Trained at either? Correct us.

Every figure on this page came off a camp’s own website. Jaopahin Muay Thai was read on 2026-10-14 and Monkey Muay Thai on 2026-10-13. Camps change prices without changing the page the price is printed on. If one of these is wrong, or if you know a line neither camp publishes, tell us and we will date the change.
